Reflexology

What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is the process of thumb and finger walking applied to the hand, foot, or ear. Alternating pressure is applied in zones and areas that correspond to other areas of the body. With the application of finger and thumb walking, stimulated points can bring about a sense of relaxation and help the body bring itself into balance.

What to expect in a reflexology session?
Typically a session usually can last for 45-60 minutes. You will be asked questions about your history and if you are currently on any medication or herbs (as these may affect how the session is performed). Clients are asked to remove their shoes prior to session (socks are optional). The session typically takes place on a massage table or a reclining chair.
The reflexologist will relax the feet through stretching, compression, and flexing motions typically working from the toes to the heels. The session is typically quiet, with soft music and can be very relaxing. Reflexology is great for stress reduction and overall a good tool for relaxation. This is a wonderful therapy for those who are looking for relaxation with less invasive techniques.
